Buccal tube / locks for the 1st molar 4 pcs.
Devices that are fixed to the first or second molars as part of the brace system are called buccal tubes or locks. They can be attached directly to tooth enamel or soldered to orthodontic rings worn on the sixth or seventh teeth. In some cases, before putting the ring on the teeth, separation rings are installed, which ensure a slight discrepancy between the teeth.
The tube usually has two grooves (one for the bow, the other for additional elements), but there are locks that contain two grooves for the bows and one for the face bow. Locks for first molars can have a cover, removing which the lock turns into a bracket. Such locks are called convertible. If the cover is not removed, they are talking about leaky tubes that are not convertible.
