Futar® D (Futari D) is an impression material for bite registration based on vinylpolysiloxane, which hardens from the reaction of polyaddition, with an extremely high final hardness (according to Shor-D 43). Manufacturer Kettenbach (Kettenbach, Germany).
Release form:
2 cartridges of 50 ml each + 6 nozzles (Mixing Tips 6.0 mm blue)
cartridges are suitable for 1:1 and 2:1 dispenser
Advantages of Futar D occlusion registration silicone material A:
• Extremely high final hardness according to Shore-D 43 (Shore-D 43)
• Low elasticity (reduces the spring effect when placing models)
• Convenient working time of 30 seconds, short time in the mouth
• Mills well (the correctness of the registration of the bite can be checked in the mouth and, if necessary, the unnecessary segment can be removed),
• Does not flow into the interdental spaces,
• High thixotropy with accurate results
N.B.: Shore hardness is one of the methods of measuring the hardness of polymeric materials (plastics, elastomers, silicones). The method and scale were proposed by Albert F. Shore in the 1920s.
He also developed a suitable measuring device called a durometer. It is regulated by the international standard ISO 868 and a number of other national standards.
The two most common scales are type A and type D. The type A scale is for softer materials, while the D scale is for harder ones.
Application of A-silicone impression material Futari D:
• bite registration,
• bite fork coverage during registration,
• manufacture of templates, such as for intraoral templates with a support pin,
• production of model segments when installing indirect restorations for polishing occlusion on the model,
• registration of occlusion in implantology,
• insulating material for packing plastic and porcelain teeth,
• use in the laboratory when solid silicone is required.
N.B.: The Kettenbach company is a German company with an international name, a leader in the development and production of high-quality impression materials. It was the Kettenbach company that invented the world's first material based on condensation silicone Lastic® 55 (the world's first impression silicone), and as before, thanks to the innovation and quality of its products, it sets the pace for other manufacturers.
