The tool consists of the following elements:

• elongated working part with divisions;
• a convenient round handle-holder with anti-slip notches that ensure convenient holding of the probe during work.

Excellent tactile sensitivity and low weight increase the accuracy of manipulations and general ergonomics during work.

The tool is used in the following cases:

• to detect the presence of gingival pockets;
• for tapping the teeth (with the back side of the probe) in order to detect the softening of the enamel and other defects;
• determination of the depth of periodontal pockets;
• assessment of the degree of tooth root exposure, etc.

The dental probe undergoes mandatory sterilization cleaning after each use.

For this purpose, the following can be used:

• steam autoclave (temperature of hot steam in the chamber is 180°C);
• ultrasonic bath;
• dry heat;
• the bath is filled with chemical disinfectants.
