The tools have high cutting ability.

These are very effective tools for root canal treatment . They are a combination of two cutting edges of the H-file. they can be used as files (vertical sawing motion) and reamers (rotating motion).

S-files are made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel using a method that allows you to get two precise and very sharp cutting edges with a gradually increased step. For the production of these files, very flexible and at the same time very hard steel is used.
S-files are designed to perform full rotary movements and sawing movements “down” (toward the apical part) and “up” (toward the crown).
The intersection of the S-file forms 2 right angles with the channel wall (2 cutting edges), which create a very large cutting force. A very large space between the cutting surface of the tool and the channel wall provides increased elasticity.
1. Rotational movements
When rotating clockwise, the tool has high cutting performance. When rotating in the opposite direction, the tool does not cut the canal walls. Thanks to this execution technique, when rotating counterclockwise, the tool shows no tendency either to "untwist" or to fracture.
2. Cutting movements
A very sharp cutting edge allows you to clean the channel quickly and efficiently by sawing "up" (that is, when removing the tool from the channel). The best results are obtained by a combination of rotational movement with removal of the instrument from the canal.
The gradually increased step of the cutting edge and the large space between the tool and the walls of the channel significantly contribute to the removal of material from the channel during clockwise rotational movements and the removal of the tool from the channel. Insertion of the tool into the channel and counterclockwise rotation movements do not affect material removal. The tool is highly efficient (about 2 times more than H-file). Removes material from the channel very well.

Sterilization
Instruments can be repeatedly sterilized with hot, dry heat (1800) and in a steam autoclave (1350). Instruments can be disinfected in mild disinfectants, and they can also be cleaned in ultrasonic cleaners.
