The modern drug Pulpotek (Pulpotec) is actively used in world dentistry in the treatment of pulpitis, including children's, and is also an excellent support agent for the pulp of the tooth root.

The absence of eugenol in the composition allows Pulpotek to be used in restoration works, in particular for fixing materials.
Release form and composition
The powder composition of the Pulpotec drug includes zinc oxide, iodoform and POM.
The liquid form of the drug contains formaldehyde, hydroxybenzene, dexamethasone acetate, guaiacol and additional ingredients.

The drug is supplied with a 30-gram vial of powder and a 15-milliliter blister with a liquid component.

At the first stage, a pulpotomy of the inflamed area is performed. If bleeding occurs, it should be stopped with sterile cotton wool.

Then the drug is injected into the pulp chamber, and the tooth cavity is temporarily filled.

Remains of the filling and Pulpotec are removed after 7-10 days, then a compacted fragment of Pulpotec is inserted into the dental cavity, after which the dental cavity is closed with a permanent filling.

Resistance to postoperative toothache leaves 80-85%.

In what cases is Pulpotek used
In adult patients: treatment of permanent teeth, including preparation for prosthetics. For elderly patients, Pulpotek is used for root canal calcification.

For children, the drug Pulpotec is intended for the convalescent treatment of non-permanent molars, pulpitis in the embryonic stage, convalescent treatment of permanent teeth, including the presence of abscesses.

Pulpotomy is performed using traditional methods. Pulpotek is also used after laser partial removal of the pulp.

Dentists practice two methods of introducing the Pulpotec drug into the pulp chamber.

In standard operations with Pulpotek, the dry and liquid parts of the drug are mixed to a homogeneous state and introduced into the affected chamber with a paste filler. At the same time, the presence of a small amount of blood is allowed.

The second method of applying Pulpotec is also popular, for which the components of the drug are mixed on a glass block to a dense substance. After that, the mixture is downloaded into a package and integrated directly into the camera. Then the material is pressed with a tool and cemented for a short time.

At another stage of the work, a permanent seal is installed, along with this, it is allowed not to pull out the Pulpotek, but simply layer it with a small amount of cement for insulation, but to prevent interpenetration of materials.

Notes
There may be pain during the first stage of work, which disappears after another visit. If the pain cannot be tolerated, the first portion of the material is removed completely and a new portion of Pulpotek is introduced.

If the pain is arthritic in nature, it is eliminated with anti-inflammatory drugs.

Very rarely, pain occurs if the treated tooth is not capable of restoration, as well as with undetected deformations of the crown or perforated cavities.

It is not recommended to use Pulpotek when the pulp is completely removed, and you should also avoid the penetration of the drug into the peri-dental tissues and skin.
