CATGUT is simple
Natural, absorbable suture material. Purified connective tissue (mainly collagen) of the submucosal layer of the small intestine of sheep or the serous layer of the small intestine of cattle, after mechanical processing and polishing, turns into a practically monofilament thread. Simple catgut is not subjected to additional processing in order to increase the absorption period.
Characteristics : Catgut simple has a high quality of polishing, easily passes through tissues, has good manipulation properties, high breaking load and elasticity, reliably holds the knot.
Field of application : For use as a ligature and suture material in various surgical interventions. Gastrointestinal tract, obstetrics, mucous membranes, oncourology, gynecology, fascia, muscles, subcutaneous tissue, peritoneum, parenchymal organs, bronchi and lungs, trauma surgery, wound closure.
Contraindications : It is not recommended to use catgut in cardiovascular surgery and neurosurgery, as well as in patients with known sensitivity or allergy to collagen, because the basis of catgut is collagen.
