Self-etching one-component photopolymer adhesive providing excellent bonding to dentin, enamel, composites, metal and amalgam.
Jen-Unibond SE contains esters of methacrylic resins, modified with phosphoric acid, and methacrylates, modified with maleic acid, which, when exposed to a moist environment, provide controlled etching of the surface of dentin and enamel, thereby creating chemical and micromechanical bonding of the restorative material. These chemically active components can react with dental hydroxyapatite, forming a chemical bond with calcium ions. In the process of bonding Jen-Unibond SE adhesive to dentin, dissolution of the inorganic components of the "lubricated layer" and demineralization of the intertubular tissue of dentin take place. At the same time, adhesive components penetrate into the tubular structure of demineralized dentin, forming "strings" that ensure reliable adhesion of the restorative material to the tooth surface.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
Self-etching adhesive system for restoration of all classes of cavities (according to Black) using composite and compomer restorative materials.
Adhesive system for fixation of indirect restorations made of composite/compomer materials and ceramics using dual-hardening composite cements (for example, Jen-DuaCem).
Protective varnish for cervical areas of teeth.
ADVANTAGES
Simple, fast and economical application technique.
It contains components that provide elasticity when working with all types of composites due to the creation of an elastic hybrid layer. Such an elastic hybrid layer reduces the risk of microbleeding due to its high elasticity and resistance to breakage.
Contains PAK (surface-active components) that facilitate the penetration of the resin into the dentinal tubules.
A special copolymerized solvent in combination with a very small amount of ethyl alcohol as a carrier solves the problem of rapid evaporation of excess (unwanted) solvent and ensures the penetration of the adhesive into the dentinal tubules.
Does not contain acetone or other compounds that irritate the pulp.
APPLICATION METHOD
Insulation:
For insulation, it is recommended to use a cofferdam.
Tooth preparation:
Prepare teeth using standard methods. Carefully remove damaged tooth tissue. Clean the cavity from dust formed after preparation with the help of water, dry with air or cotton swabs. Do not allow drying.
Etching:
To increase the strength of adhesion when working in the area of tooth enamel, additional etching of these areas is recommended before applying the adhesive.
Unprepared enamel should be thoroughly cleaned with a polishing paste or an intraoral sandblasting device. Enamel etching is carried out using standard etching gels (for example, Phospho-Jen AS) for 15-20 seconds.
Prepared enamel can be selectively etched to enhance adhesion. Apply the etching gel to the enamel, including the overhanging edges of the enamel. Leave for 15-20 seconds. Rinse well with water, then dry with a jet of air. Do not overdry.
Pulp protection:
To avoid pulp irritation, cover the pulp area with calcium-containing pads.
Adhesive application and restoration:
Apply Jen-Unibond SE with a brush, rubbing well into the prepared cavity. Wait 20-25 seconds. Blow dry for 5 seconds. Do not wash. Photopolymerize for 10-20 seconds.
Then perform the restoration with photopolymer composite materials by a direct or indirect method. Follow the material manufacturer's instructions.
When fixing indirect restorations on composite cement, prepare the restoration for fixation in accordance with the requirements of the manufacturer of the material from which it is made.
Special recommendations:
When restoring class V cavities (cervical defects), the adjacent edges of the enamel should be chamfered and etched in the usual way. Before etching, the dentin and the adjacent edges of the enamel must be cleaned, washed and slightly dried.
Application to reduce hypersensitivity in the cervical area:
Clean the cervical area of the tooth with increased sensitivity, using a preventive paste and a rubber cup. Wash off the paste with water. Air dry. Avoid overdrying the dentin. Apply Jen-Unibond SE in the same manner as for a direct restoration.
