3M™ ESPE™ Astringent Retraction Paste is a retraction hemostatic paste for temporary retraction of marginal gums, provides a dry gingival sulcus with healthy periodontium and long-term hemostasis.
It is used in the following cases:
– fingerprinting (digital and analog),
– cement fixation of temporary and permanent orthopedic structures,
- preparation for Class II and V restorations.

Horizontal and vertical retraction of the gums is achieved due to the mechanical effect of the dense paste on the walls of the gingival sulcus and the chemical effect of the vasoconstrictor - aluminum chloride (15%). The patented extra-thin nose of the capsule provides easy and atraumatic access, the paste effectively opens the gingival groove.
